Man, famous hip hop producer had a helluva time in South Africa. Originally booked for a set at the Bacardi Holiday Club he decided to explore his new surroundings to the max.
You don’t have to take our word for it, the man’s Instagram is like a photo diary of what went down:
With his departure he made sure to take home a lot of souvenir’s just as a reminder of how much fun he had. Amongst those were an Esther Mahlangu art piece, probably a Nelson Makamo art piece (him and Black Coffee visited him in his studios) and, surprise, surprise, Samthing Soweto’s ‘Akanamali.’
Swizz Beatz posted up this video showing his son Genesis dancing. What was he dancing to? Samthing Soweto’s 2017 mega-hit Akanamali of course.
Swizz Beatz is doing an amazing job of showing that South Africa isn’t a ‘jungle’ (ahem, Migos) and showing off our local productions as things worthy of international export. Then again, we’ve been knowing. Just waiting for them to catch up. Having had so much fun, one doesn’t doubt that they will probably see Swizz Beats back in the SA streets again. What song would you suggest he get into also?
